If this uniform could speak, what would it say it had seen? This housekeepers uniform belongs to my mother: an NHS housekeeper. Each patch is a badge of honour with embroidered stories she has witnessed or experienced as a housekeeper. Here, the uniform speaks up for our Housekeepers; how they are so much more than cleaners, so much more than a uniform. They support, they feed, they listen, they clean with passion, they preserve patients dignity and they often wipe away the tears of both patients and exhausted nurses. They are our unsung heroes. They are our beloved housekeepers.
